The Impact Of Beau Blevins On Public Administration Essay
Beau Blevins came to speak at Emory and Henry College on September 14th of 2015. Right from the beginning he was impressive. Before he began his lecture, he made a point to introduce himself to every single person in the room. This made him more personal and easy to talk to, obviously a skill that has served it s use during his career. Mr. Blevins has a masters in public administration from George Mason University and had a B.A. from Emory and Henry College. He is a legislative advocate for transportation and healthcare issues. He recently worked with executive officials under both Governor Kaine, and Governor McDonnell giving advice on finances and policy. In 2015 Mr. Blevins was appointed to the Mount Vernon Board of Visitors. He is currently teaching a course at Emory and Henry College that expands from his lecture. If anything, he has earned the right to brag on himself and say that he s accomplished a lot because for someone in their early thirties he has done a lot and he has d one a lot in some powerful places in the world. I would say that he is definitely the guy you go to when you need help on just about anything. The fact is, he has connections. One of the big things that Mr. Blevins talked about in his lecture is the White Paper. It s, simply, the page of basic info. This piece of paper is what you give the guy who needs a quick run down and you re the ones with all the answers. This can also be used in a first meeting type of situation. You have this one
